The Cost of Tennis Strings
How much do tennis strings really cost? This is not the price you pay for the strings, but the cost over the life of the strings. A simple method would be to calculate the cost of the strings per hour. This cost will vary for different types of players, as explained in the examples shown below.
String Costs for Players |
|
Club Players |
A typical club player will play twice a week for a total of fours hours. This is 104 hours of playing time over the estimated six months life of the strings |
Team Players |
A player in this group could play three times a week and probably need two restrings over six months. This is 78 hours of playing time per restring. |
Competition Players |
This group of players could play four times a week and probably need four restrings over six months. This is 52 hours of play per restring. |
Summary |
These are only simple examples, and you will have to adjust them for your own playing pattern. You should be able to calculate the hourly cost and decide what is a reasonable cost for you. |
Stringing Costs |
You will also have to consider the cost of stringing your racket. This can vary by a large amount, and the cheapest price is seldom the best. |
